Rainbow in the Mist

Another one from the Gorge... I tried several angles here, but this seems to be the popular one, for good reason, I guess. The scale is hard to convey. As I was shooting, a rainbow came into view. My guess is that this is not uncommon here, but I thought it added an interesting element to the scene. 2 exposures for dynamic range, Nikon D800E 14-24 with polarizer (CAVision mounted on Lee SW150), f/16 1/2 second ISO 200. Oh, and I did clone out that annoying tree that was right in the middle of the water convergence
Thanks in advance for looking and critiquing. Cheers!

Great flow, vibrant colors, and a rainbow to top it all off. Not sure how this could be any better. Very nice image!

Gorgeous Chris! This is wonderful on so many fronts - the dynamic composition, flow, dynamics, color, sat, processing, oh, and there's a rainbow! No nits, just a wonderful image.

Awesome! I love how the water action funnels you right to the falls and what's not to like about those lush greens. Beautiful image, Chris.

Wonderful view! I like how the brightness of the distant falls makes it the primary subject and how the triangle of flow at the bottom creates tension as I try to figure out which way the water is running.

i saw this and wondered how mark would respond (see this) particularly because he stated "I have avoided positing anything publicly not wanting my shot to look like others..."!

Nice composition indeed.

Fantastic light on this one. Love the rainbow addition. Next time you need to have a friend parachute down past the lower falls to portray some size...if he's lucky he'd land in the water and its a win win for everyone... :toast:
