Cottonwood Canyon

We drove most of the length of Cottonwood Canyon and enjoyed the white peaks and red and white mountains. The huge power lines kind of disturb the view to say the least. Chet

Great use of layers and those clouds are fantastic, Chet. Looks like a great drive.

Love the interesting colors you captured with the FG and the hills. The sky in the large version appears to have a fair amount of noise, at least on my monitor. Maybe selectively subtracting sharpening from the sky would help.

I like the layers, Chet. I drove Cottonwood Canyon a couple weeks ago, Chet, and admired this very scenery (though not the poles and power lines).

Chet,

Love the scene; the layers divided by thirds makes for a great comp and the narrow format is very fitting.

Maybe it's just me, or I'm the only one will to comment, but I think this one here is slightly on the processed, high contrast, saturation and maybe even sharpening side. The sky in the larger version shows quite a bit of noise too. I really love this landscape scene, I just find it slightly "crunch." Not sure how else to describe it.
