South Africa's antelope the Springbok, is plentiful in the Northern Dry Areas. Believe it or not less than 150 years ag.
This image was taken in one of their strongholds, Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, South Africa there used to be a gigantic migration, but as soon as people found out they were good eating the numbers dropped dramatically.

Lovely portrait of a wonderful antelope Ken. Perhaps a bit too 'Trophy' like.

I really like the lighting, at first I thought it was a bit strong but all of the detail is there and the catch light in the eye is awesome! Nice work. BTW I bet they are tasty

Very nice image quality Ken, the whites are perfectly exposed. Martin raises an interesting point that perhaps their is a trophy-like appearance with this neck and head crop. I'm a little confused by your commentary, the numbers have rebounded in the Northern Dry Areas?

Thanks every body, photography is the best way to collect "trophies"
By the way they do taste very nice, they are "farmed" in quite a few places, they make a fine pie
