Nice pose and an excellent job on exposing the whites, Sandy. I'd be tempted to crop this one to about square to eliminate the oof bird on the right, though it's not a major distraction.

I like that pose with that lifted foot. Sharp detailed and perfectly handled whites. I did not notice the OOF bird at first; it almost looks like a trunk in the BG

I really like this image. These guys are the forgotten Egret. The yellow crest shows up beautifully in you capture. Is it just me or is it unusual to see this species perched in a tree?

Dave, this was mating and baby season - so the egrets are feeding chicks in nests in trees. Same with the spoonbills - feeding chicks in nests in trees.
Both are usually not seen in trees otherwise.

Nice job with the whites, I like that you were able to capture him clear of the surrounding branches. Nice job!

A very beautiful capture of this habitat shot Sandy ! I too would do something with the out-of-focus bird on the right. :wavey:

Great capture. It's got its stare on, so glad I'm not the one on the receiving en of that beak! Beautiful exposure/processing for the bird.
