I took this in my backyard about 1 1/2 months ago. I find Cardinals interesting to watch and really like the coloring on the females.

Canon 7D
Canon 70-200 2.8 II IS
Canon Speedlite 580EX II fill flash -1
1/250 f5.6

C&C always welcome.

A really lovely portrait of a beautiful lady. Great catch light right in the center of her eye. Good job! :toast:

Very nice shot LeRoy, sharp, nice BG and a perfect exposure - nice use of flash, well done. I also like the understated beauty of the female Cardinal, lovely shot.

Nice job, LeRoy. Excellent detail and I like the perch. Sweet light, too.

If I used flash on my songbirds, this is how it would look
Great plane of focus, detail, & blurred BG at f/5.6, well done LeRoy :toast:
