Blue-eyed grass

I recently purchased this perennial grass for my gardens. It has spiky stems with little blue flowers blooming from the tips.

Canon EOS 60D. 90mm macro lens. F/4 for 1/125 sec. ISO 200. Tripod mounted, natural lighting.

Caroline

Love the color harmony in this composition. The diagonal lines in the bg work really well to support the 2 purple flowers. :toast:

These little beauties grow wild here and are always a treat. You have done an exceptional job capturing such fine details in these tiny blooms. The color is lovely and I like the hint of the grass blades in the bg. Nicely done!

Carolyn, love the color and detail against the soft green yellow bg. Beautifully seen and presented.

I do love the dynamism of so many of your compositions, Carolyn - this is no exception. Lovely background and perfect dof. Not sure whether a little detail is lost from the centres - I don't know these flowers so I don't know what I might be looking for !! - but I do love the pollen splashes.

We don't have this nice grass here. Thanks for sharing.
I agree with Ian about the center. The yellow blows up very easily and the histogram often doesn't show the problem. Anyway a good looking image Carolyn.
Cheers.

Looks like Blue-eyed grass to me. I sure like the gentle color palette and the placement of those tiny flowers.

Excellent, Carolyn. Nice to get two blooms together and I like the dof you chose. Sweet composition.

Excellent comp on this, Carolyn. Really nice macro work. The yellow in the flowers' centers looks a little hot; I find that sometimes a selective reduction of sat and/or contrast helps with that troublesome color...
