Roan Scrap

Male Roans fighting for dominance is a quite rare sighting I have certainly never seen it before and neither had Dave Carson (our guide) who has in excess of 20 years experience in the wilds of Zimbabwe.
Unfortunately we were a long way from them, and there is no off roading in Hwange, at least not in areas as open as Ngweshla Plains.
I really needed a minimum of 800.
Please excuse the quality, posted for interest only.

I'll just be happy to see a Roan! Roan and Sable are two of the reasons we're spending the extra time in Zimbabwe. It should be a good trip, a week in Zimbabwe and a week in Kruger.

James,
Good luck in Zimbabwe where there are both Roan and Sable, I am afraid to say there is very little chance of Roan in Kruger, but you never know

John,

Thanks for your comment, I find most animal or bird sightings quite exciting apart from sleeping Lions

Lon,
Seeing action like this is a marvelous experience, getting reasonable images to share is secondary :toast:
