Couldn't help but post another from white pocket. Haven't been out to photograph since this trip, which hopefully will change this week. Anyways, nothing too out of the ordinary. Really nice direct light on the sandstone and incoming storm clouds at sunrise. Comments and critiques appreciated. Large version included.

Great light here, Peter! The sky is as captivating as the land with its colors and formations.

Wonderful color contrast in your image Peter, and the shapes make for an interesting dynamics to me.

The light is really sweet. The bright light on the orange color and the dark clouds which seem to be bringing in a storm add a nice tension to the image.

Man, you sure did get the skies when you were there. Another fine image, with sweet light, colors and shapes.

Peter,

Always a great combination of dark, storm clouds and breaking sun near the horizon to get this dramatic light. Almost too much light combined with some of the brighter formations, but not really an issue. I really like the sweeping curve pulling the eye through the frame, then topped off by the stormy sky.

I'm wishing the foreground was a little more toward magenta/red, but that's just me. Otherwise a very nice shot of a very weird place!!! :toast:

Thanks Mark. Although the rocks are actually a magenta red naturally, with the way the light was it rendered them orange. I didn't want to play with the colors here too much. I have another scene looking direct opposite and the light is exactly the same. Of course, 30 minutes earlier the rich red magenta would have been more obvious.
