Trouble in Texas

This is actually one of the 'weaker' storms i encountered on my storm chasing trip the other day--this one s i was driving back in N Texas. I saw all the green clouds ahead of me (which are due to hail in the storm) and so i pulled off the first exit and drove some back roads to find a suitable foreground. More to come this week!

The only thing I would do is crop out the FP on the right side. They distract from this powerful shot.

Dang it, you caught what I envisioned yesterday for a shot. A wheat field with a supercell above it. Great color in the storm cloud, Stan. Nice work all over. I would crop the phone poles.

Love the colors of the field and the sky is beautiful in it's angry way. The poles? Ho hum.

Weak or not, this is very nice! I agree though with Jack's comment about the poles, they distract a bit from the uniformity of the field. But the clouds are fascinating!

Great image Stan, I love images like this that capture a singular moment in time and you will never see replicated. That's some amazing color in the clouds.

IMO the poles don't distract in the least from this incredible photograph showing natures magnificent power and beauty.

Thanks guys!
Tim, thanks--i strongly considered ditching the poles, but it was important enough for me to consciously include them when i took the shot, so i stuck with my original decision. They are arguably 'distracting' but i felt they offered s bit of depth to the shot and perspective. i could have brought them closer to the center, but that would have compromised the shot as a whole. So...i can live with them for now, until Charlie completely falls asleep.

A very cool shot, Stan! That is an impressive looking sky and with that color it has that eerie look and feel. For me the poles add even more to the feel of this scene. Guess I would have been heading the other way! Nice work Stan!

Powerfully awesome Stan! I really like the cyan/green in the clouds - and thanks for the explanation too!

Be safe out there!

I like this and I actually like the poles they are not particularly intrusive and more to the point provide a much needed sense of scale which wheat fields don't really afford.

Lots of energy and drama. Ominous sky above the warm fields makes for nice contrast. Nicely done

The poles are a bit distracting Stan, but not too big of a deal. And as far as depth, those "weak" storm clouds provide plenty of that I think!

The sky is fascinating Stan, it looks great above the warmth of the barley field. The diagonal cloud bank really aids the composition. The poles don't bother me.

Gary.

Wow...amazing color in the sky! I'd agree on cropping or cloning out the utility poles. I'd have no problem with them except that they're right near the edge of the frame.
