D800 200-400mm @310mm F8 1/2000 ISO 360

This was the takeoff of these 2 Great Egrets as they began an aerial battle over nesting territory at a Texas rookery in march. Liked how it came off looking like a choreographed dance instead of a fight.

Cloned out a few branch tops at bottom of image

Love the grace that you have captured. Egret #2 seems to be standing on air ! Clone out Egret #1 and see what he looks like ???

Awesome behavior capture Bob  The second bird's body and feet position really makes this shot for me. Excellent details and composition.

Excellent capture. A few cloning artifacts across the bottom of the photo, just under the feet.

Good timing, Bob. The animation of the birds is great.

Perfect timing. They really move those long legs and feet around when flying ... err dancing. Beautiful.

Nice timing to capture both. The one on the left is quite funny! Sharon
