This pair of owls stay in a group of trees next to my property. I hear them in the evening and morning during certain times of the year. They were fond of using a perch in my backyard. One evening I set on the patio with a wireless remote and the camera and flash preset on the perch hoping one of them would land. This is one of the photos I was able to get.

Canon 7D
Canon 70-200 II IS 2.8
1/250 f8
ISO 160

C&C is always appreciated.

Absolutely great image... love the different colors of the birds - how one has dilated eyes and the other doesn't. The prey is really interesting too (snake? worm?). I would try and tone down the brightness of the "perch" a bit and make the image look less "flash-banged". Perhaps increase the warmth?
