Another shot of the Eastern Hognose AKA Hissing Adder, Puff Adder, Blowing Adder, Flathead, Spreadhead to name a few

I kind of like the classic 'snake in the grass' theme for this one.
BTW - 60 today :)

F/16, 1/200th, ISO 500, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + 1.4 ext and soft-top flash around 9:00am. Clear/sunny.

This is the best of the series IMO Howard,
That forked tongue and the DOF are amazing, you have a real gift for making extremely difficult shots look easy.

Wonderful shot Howard, I like the low grass perspective with the head/tongue clearly visible. Interesting to see your other post about how the snake will flatten it's head. Happy Birthday

Yikes, looks like you aren't afraid to get down low with these guys! Very effective. Look at that tongue, great detail. Looks like you have really got flash down pretty well based on these last couple of posts. Nice work.
