Coqui Francolin

Unlike many Francolins this one does not seem to like the "open" spaces and certainly does not run in front of the vehicle
This is the most open one I have got so far, other than none too good "look Down" images.
Taken in Kwando Botswana
Canon 1DX
500mm F4 MkII
F5.6
ISO 800
1/2000
EV + 0.67

Nice detail in the bird and sharp where it counts. Great habitat shot too. I like this one a lot.

I agree with Jerry, it is very sharp ( super focus from the 1DX no doubt ) and I too like the setting, makes for a very natural looking image. Top work Ken.

Never heard of this bird before and you managed a pretty good view of it, despite the grassy habitat. Head is nice and sharp. Sharon

I like this as posted Ken. Love the habitat and good look at the bird's upper body. Well done.
