I shot this tanager in the gardens of the La Selva Biological Station a few weeks ago. I know many won't care for the image because of the clutter within the comp, but I hazard a post because this is a fairly uncommon bird in the Caribbean Lowlands, where this bird was found.

Cluttered it may be, but I like it just the same. These are very attractive birds, which I have only seen in zoos. Nice bright color, I like the action the bird is showing. I would not want the berries to be cloned out, they are part of the scene. Thanks for sharing.

Stunning blues here and the berries are a nice touch. Would prefer a slightly different angle - but that's a small nit considering how well exposed this bird is

What a stunning blue. I've never seen this bird before so I am happy with your clear image Chuck. The bird if facing front and doing something which more than compensates for the clutter.

The natural settings and action make the shot Chuck, they are not clutter IMO. Nicely exposed also. :toast:

A famously skittish bird; very well done, Charles. In particular, you nailed the blue. One of our bird guides told us that we'd know we had a Blue Dacnis in our binos because the blue would make your eyes start to water.

A bit cluttered, but I don't mind. It still looks stunning. Thanks for sharing. :wavey:
