One of four sisters ,after a little frolicking around with one of her sisters decided to take a rest on a nice warm and sunny spot on the road.we spent a couple of hours observing and photographing two of the sisters .A most awesome day .
Although one can see the tracks on the path through the forest in many of the photos ,In India it is often the only clear place to photograph and spot some of the wildlife as many safaris take place in quite dense forests.
Canon 500 mm Canon eos 1D MK 1V . ISO 400 1/250 at F4. beanbag.
Thank youo for looking . C/C always welcome.

Suzanne,

What a nice looking Tiger nice light and great detail.
Roads in India can be a real problem, but this one is not overly noticeable, and of course finding a Tiger in the clear off road is relatively rare, at least for me

What a beautiful cat. Your angle almost makes the road disappear. Did you try a closer crop too? She is so gorgeous that I think she could carry the image on her own.

I have to agree this is one gorgeous animal, and I love the detail and lighting too. Until you mentioned it I wasn't really aware that this was a road she was lying on, so I don't think it detracts from your shot. I do however find the vertical lines (saplings?) a bit distracting, but that's nature photography, and we sometimes just have to be content with what we are given. Overall a great shot Suzanne and a wonderful memento your awesome encounter.

Hi Suzanne, I like the way the road leads you to the subject, interesting they use the same 'highway' as us, nice and soft for their paws, but more importantly quieter than going through the undergrowth. If you have it, I would move the whole crop about a third of the space (between Tiger & trim) putting it less central and I like the vegetation retaining the subject so to speak on the LH edge. Did you blur the top third of the image as there are small repeat patterns in there and it looks like its encroaching slightly into the eras too. Also, just watch your SS.

A beautiful photograph of this gorgeous tiger Suzanne. Your DOF and focus are just perfect. I would suggest cropping off the vegetation on the left because my eyes are drawn to that side instead of the tiger. Also to remove a bit of the OOF bottom part of the image. The road in this image is not bothersome at all.

Suzanne, your low angle really makes this shot work; it creates an intimacy that makes me hardly see the track! Great detail and a lovely colour palette. Also very well processed giving this a very natural look. Cropping it tighter will make the road even more 'invisible' IMO.

Lovely angle and setting. Road schmoad. Cropping a sliver off the bottom is the way to go! :toast:
