Few things can match the beauty and refreshment of cascades sparkling in the sun. Thanks for your thoughts!

WOW  Look at that beautiful sun light on the water rapid. I like the green foreground also!! It really makes the scene a lot more dramatic. :toast:

Very tranquil, really enjoying the curtains of water with the dappled light. Nice work Floris.

You really excel at tough lighting situations. I think all of your recent were shot at any time other than magic hour. Cascade fountain is my favorite such image. The diagonals of the rays are just visible here and make the shot for me! Nice work, Floris.

Works for me. The light adds interest and the composition works well.

Refreshing perspective. Love the dappled sunlight filtering in. The center large cascade seems to lack some texture, not sure if a single shutter speed was used for the entire image. Maybe a slightly faster exposure is available to blend that part of the water? Very minor, cool shot.

Thanks folks!

Harry - this is pretty much all from one exposure at 1/20th, though I have many other exposures at different shutter speeds. I tried mixing some faster water in, but it just looked a little off.

Wow! The lush foreground looks good enough to eat, and the sparkling light is incredible! I'd be curious how many different images this photograph needed? BTW, I like the natural, yet vibrant colors. Great job processing this!

Thanks Nathan - this is pretty much all from one exposure at 1/20th sec. I used a second exposure for the foreground, when the light was most tame (it was constantly changing as the sun was moving through the trees) I happened to use a 1/10th sec exposure then, but liked the 1/20th for the water more, and I had to use a third exposure to remove some haze in the center (by doing a panoramic stitch) because I got some condensation in my lens during a shoot earlier that day.

This is a very different image Floris. I like it heaps. I can see a shadow of what looks like an old wooden fence behind the cascade on the left. how could this be? I would try to remove it even if it's an illusion.

Dennis - no fences, just some logs  I prefer not to clone things (except for very minor distractions in corners), as it invariably leads to artifacts, which really bother me.

Love that light, Floris, that seems to be enveloping the scene with a unique, jewel like quality that is simply amazing. Together with the lush greens and the far waterfall motion.... magic.

Simply spectacular! The greens are so luscious and the water is so inviting. The sunny highlights scattered through the falling water feel like fairy dancers enjoying the coming of spring. Or alternatively...reminds me, I need to take a shower.

This is a very unique take on this waterfall Floris. You definitely made the most of all of the sunlight we have had recently in the Pacific NW. Definitely looks refreshing!
