5/5/13 Newport Beach, California I set up my blooming plants to attract Hummingbirds and along came this California Towhee with a moth in his mouth. He landed in perfect range and gave me one shot.

D800 Nikkor 600mm 1/1250 f/8 ISO800 Flash with Better Beamer white balance auto tripod and Wimberley gimbal Processed in Lightroom, CS6 and NIK cropped slightly

A nice capture Patrick, maybe a tiny bit less light from the flash but I don't know this bird and this aspect is tough for me to comment. Very sharp plumage and eye. A pleasant picture. :toast:

Well done, Patrick. A bit more DOF would have been nice.

Great pose and of course the moth adds to the image. The flash is pretty apparent on this one. Don't know if you used negative flash compensation or not.

Excellent Patrick. The bug in the mouth makes the image for me.

Great capture of the moth in the mouth. The details and exposure look fine to me considering this Towhee is a drab and plain looking bird. Nicely done !
