This Spike Winterhazel (Corylopsis spicata) is showing its spring blossoms as seen at an arboretum we visited recently. I really like the way the blossoms and spring growth of trees looks silhouetted against the blue sky. In this case I also caught some interesting diagonal cloud formations in the background.

Canon Rebel T1i. 65mm at F/11 for 1/100 sec. ISO 200. Handheld, natural lighting.

Nicely presented, Carolyn. Excellent use of contrasting bi-colors (hmmm....sounds like the WC theme.)

I think your diagonal cloud formations are contrails, but anyhow the yellow is quite lovely against the blue!

Eirini, large areas of the sky were filled with these clouds which I believe were Cirrus clouds. Bands of them were streaking the sky, and just the way they were formed I'm pretty sure there were "legitimate" clouds. I'm sure contrails were present also but I try to avoid them in my photos.

A Spring sky and Spring blossoms. A very nice, emotive feel to this!

Brilliant combination of color with the yellow blooms against the deep blue of the sky. The one branch venturing out of the frame is a little unsettling, but I sure like the overall arrangement of the branches and flowers.

P.S., the larger version shows the nice details in the blooms and the yellow doesn't look as hot in places-- again, better detail, there, too.

Bright, fresh and Spring-like, Carolyn ! The cloud formations complement the flow of the branches perfectly - I like the yellow border too.
