Finally had some decent rains this week here in eastern Nebraska. Still a long way to go to relieve the drought but every drop helps. This was taken yesterday at one of our state parks along the Platte river not far from where it empties into the Missouri.

I like the pleasant warm mood you captured here John, along with the natural color and composition. Well done.

Nice composition here John. My eyes are led across the falls nicely. Good exposure for the water.Maybe a little darkerin the backround and foreground to keep focus in falls area. But great as is.

That's a nice set of falls. I wonder if you'll get enough rain to wash away some of the detritus below; it might be worth a return trip.

Where are you in NE? I was in Lincoln for my niece's wedding last month, and will return when her brother graduates from college next month. I'll be interested to compare how the countryside compares with the last trip. It was pretty brown (until Sunday when it turned white  ).

Very nice composition and feel to this. The shelf in the foreground looks soft and stopping down could help that but of course make a softer water blur which you may have been trying to avoid.

John,

I'm in Lincoln and I know what you mean when you say it was brown and drab. Like alot of the country we've been in a severe drought and our winter was super dry. We've recently gotten good rains and I believe when you return next month you'll find it a whole lot greener. Safe travels and I hope you enjoy your next visit! :toast:

Really nice composition. I concur with Bill's comments about selective burning above and below the falls. I think this works really well. Nice work!
