Potato Beetle

This is some type of a potato beetle. . .I had posted a back view of this beetle previously. Even though considered a pest, I thought he was quite photogenic with his interesting designs and the nice perch he had on an unopened Hosta flower.

Canon Rebel T1i. 180mm macro lens. F/9 for 1/13 sec. ISO 100. Tripod mounted, in-camera flash.

I well remember your excellent previous view of this cool looking beetle, Carolyn. I like this view which includes the squiggly legs and the soft colorful bg. Lots of super colors for an insect image. :toast:

What an awesome look at this handsome beetle, too bad it's a pest. That mostly yellow background is sure sweet.

A very beautiful beetle which I saw so often as a child in my grandma's garden. The first time I saw one I proudly showed it to her, then she shreeked and squashed it immediately...fearing for her potato crop...needless to say I never told her again when I saw one  so yes, a pest, but very beautiful and captured here very nicely in all his beautiful detail.
Grt, Ingrid.
