This seems such a peaceful place that represents the very best of country living.

This is a beautiful and very peaceful scene but I'm pretty sure it belongs in Man and Nature. I do like the light and the clarity you've captured. Nice work

Beautiful country scene Beth but I do need to move this to the M&N Gallery. Hope you understand.

Nice scene Beth. If this were mine, I'd crop out the sky and take a considerable slice off the bottom.

It is definitely an idealic scene, with a nice composition mostly. However, I do not feel like you've captured the essence you described. First, the light, or color, balance seems very unwarm and uninviting. I also think the dormant trees conflict with the comfort feeling you're trying to portray. I'd shoot it again with foliage on the trees, either Fall or Late Spring, plus I'd also warm up the color balance quite a bit - perhaps shooting either earlier or later in the day, or just making it warmer in post processing. Then, from a compositional point of view, I would certainly pay more attention to the washed-out sky next time, and simply compose sans sky if you need to. You've stumbled upon what could be a beautiful Americana scene, and with the proper skills, you could certainly portray that notion better in your final image. Good luck.

Lovely iconic scene and I agree, it really does represent "the very best of country living."
The people who live here have it goin' on.. I live in the country as well, always wanted a pond like this too
I agree with Marsel, a bit off the top & bottom would be better.
Well done
