I was hoping this eared grebe would swim into the sun near the reeds but I'm glad it didn't as I got this instead. I like the rich sunset colors. 1/250,f/6.3 D7000, 500mm+1.4x, ISO 1000, cropped to vertical and some pond scum cloned out.

Verm, that gold background is gorgeous. The fact that the grebe is not directly lit up works well. Like the red eye and the golden feathers behind it.
A memorable image.
