Starfish Reflection

I saw this Starfish from about 100 feet away in a tide pool on the southern Oregon coast, and knew it had potential. To get the lowest angle possible, I had the tripod-mounted camera about 2 inches above the water surface.

Kind of looks like a dancer, but perhaps because of that, for me (and I'm a little weird) it doesn't work. It's a bit too creepy, in some way, I'm afraid. Just tellin' it like it is.

It looks like someone just climbing into the water. Well framed and captured!

I love the pop of color - the subtle reflection and the "pose". I think I would prefer it better if it had a straight horizon instead of the tilt seen here

I really like the composition and color of this image. The reflections makes the picture. One of the best starfish images I have seen.

Fantastic! :toast: Well seen Thomas, this is very arty! The fact that the image is tilted works in this case and adds to the artistic character.

I like the contrast of the orange against the dark rocks, very cool pose to catch. The star fish is sharp and good detail. I am wondering why the reflection isn't sharp to. I think maybe your shutter speed was a bit slow and the water was moving, so this gave a soft focus look to the reflection. Just a thought. Nice work!
