I shot this Japanese Iris extreme closeup yesterday, overcast conditions. New bloom, just beginning to open. I focused on one petal, and the sea 'anemone' like parts I saw there..
F/14, 1/5th, ISO 400, 1D M3, Sigma 150mm f/2.8 + 1.4x at the inside focusing distance using available light.

Happy Easter

Excellent macro view of the "anemone" like filaments of the iris. The soft light works well, Howard. Happy Easter to you as well, Howard. :wavey: :toast:

Thank you for your kind words Scott, I try to find beauty wherever I can.
It's all around us of course, if we just have eyes to see..
I was amazed to find this bloom, have no idea how it made it into our flower bed.
Happy Easter my friend :wavey:

This is wonderfully abstract, Howard. I too find the "anemone" part of the Japanese Iris intriguing. This is a great look at it with really nice colors and lines. The overcast really lets the details stand out. My Iris haven't even begun their spring growth. Happy Easter.

This sure does look like a critter from the ocean! I am fascinated that that is part of the petal! Looks like there are a couple critters exploring it! Excellent detail!
