This woodpecker was at the feeder a very long time. The cardinal was very patient and polite and waited until the woodpecker had had his fill and only then approached the suet bar.

Canon Rebel D1000
1/400 sec.
f7.1
iso 200
focal length 200 mm.

C and C appreciated

Nicely done! Good winter scene and holiday card material. Maybe the woodpecker could be abit more towards the center. Thanks for sharing.

Beth, the range fo colours is wonderful. the red of the two birds contrasts beautifully with the grey background and the silver of the Birch. Crop wise it might be good to cut a bit of the tree from the right hand side so that the birds are more central - the tree is quite dominant.

Beautiful winter scene. I agree with the previous comments but I can understand why you included the white (paper) birch tree. It does take away from your main subjects.

I agree with the centering but the tree is a nice touch. I would like to see more detail in the cardinal. The picture would make nice christmas card.

Great winter scene. Love the reds against the snow. The birch is beautiful.

Hi Beth! This is such a beautiful scene and DEFINATELY Christmas card material! I'm in favor of keeping the tree right where it is if kept as a horitzontal! However, if you went vertical and eliminated the tree, that would be just as stunning. A double winning photograph! Love the sharp snowfall, the gray of the bg, the positioning of the two together....ALL of it! Bravo!
