Until I saw the copper sulfate pentahydrate crystals, I didn't realize the topic had changed....

Anyway, this one is from the archives; April Fools Day, 2011, our wedding anniversary. It's not a flower, not an animal, not a reptile, not an insect, and, perhaps, not unusual either: But it is what it is; a floating milkweed seed.

Shot at 1/100s with a flash, Pentax K100D Super, ISO 200, Tamron 90mm at close to 1:1 macro, f/32.

Thanks for the wake up call, copper sulfate pentahydrate !!

Great close-up of a milkweed seed. The starburst effect of the tail is always fun and you've caught it very nicely here.

A seed from one of my favorite plants to photograph. These little seeds are so photogenic IMO with their nicely formed seed and the wild hairy tail attached. Great capture of this little one, John. The lighting works well to show off that wonderful tail and the texture of the seed. Nice entry for the theme!

BTW, the weekly themes run from Sunday through Saturday. I always post the next theme in the forums several days before the start of the new theme. Check the forums, John, to see the new themes coming up! I usually post it Thursday or Friday.
