My Daily Visitor

I will freely admit that I never really appreciated birds until joining NPN and visiting this gallery everyday. This is my first attempt at a bird image. He seems to visit my tree everyday, so I set up my camera and waited for him. I cropped down about 50% and cloned out a branch that was crowding. I also did post processing to sharpen and reduce size for posting.

Hi Don, and welcome to you as a new avian shooter! You may not know it yet, but it's terribly addicting! I like your Red-bellied Woodpecker and the whole tree as a background. Your exposure is very good for a bird with blacks and whites. I can see evidence of cloning, but overall a nice shot. These a really fun birds and can give a number of animated poses! Sharon

Very good for your first bird image Don, good comp and I like this tree-huggin' pose as looks back at you.
I also like the dappled light, and the oak tree bark with its textures adds great interest..
Well done & I hope you enjoy my 'Reflected Drinker'.. just in time for Easter
Let me know how it looks when you get it in about 3 days?
