San Juan Winter

This is an aerial view of Mt. Sneffels (14,150 ft.) in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. This area is my favorite part of the state with 14 mountains over 14,000 feet in elevation and 315 more over 13,000 feet.

I took this on a flight between Denver and Telluride, which is just off to the right of the image. The windows caused a weird tint to the image and it looked somewhat muddled so I used Silver Efex Pro 2 to do the B&W conversion, which did a great job adding crispness to the image. I would appreciate any critiques you may have, thank you.

Black & white works well here. I love the details and like how you composed this scene.

Excellent conversion, and a great view of my favorite peak in Colorado. The clarity is exceptional, especially from a plane window. :toast:

Beautiful B&W Scott. Wonderful details in this and you've captured the scale and majesty of the mountain nicely. Great.

Cool, Scott! Looks very snowy down there. If you look hard enough, you can almost make out Jack somewhere near the summit of Sneffles.

Scott, this is beautiful. I'm really impressed with the amount of detail you were able to pull from the image despite shooting out an airplane window.

Very sharp, hard to imagine this was from a plane window. Would Blue Lakes Pass be on the right ridge? or maybe to the far left of the peak. Conversion looks very good.

Harry, two of the lakes are under the snow field on the lower right edge and the largest of the Blue Lakes is just off the lower right corner of the photo. So the Blue Lakes trail runs over the ridge to the right of the peak.

Thank you everyone for your comments!
