Salvin's Albatross

Going through some older images I came across this Salvin's Albatross photographed at Kaikoura, New Zealand in 2008.

The original has the bird in right of frame, so I've tried adding in some ocean with content-aware fill at right of image (about 1/5 of width). Also added a little bit of canvas at the top.

Canon 40D, EF70-200mm f/4 IS, ISO 400, f/8, 1/1250, ec -2/3

Nice composition and sharp detail. Love the expression. Just a tiny bit over exposed on the breast. Great shot none the less.

Fine looking bird! A credible job of adding canvas, but the gap in the waves could use some touch up. The breast is pretty white, but I measure it at 233 at the brightest—well under gamut.

Gotta loe content-aware fill! Processing looks good. What a fierce looking bird. Excellent detail.

These are fairly large when you see them, gorgeous subject and shot. Looks great on the dark blue IMO, stands out well.

A tough exposure Simon. On my calibrated monitor the whites look good overall. I see detail in all of them and the whites are white not grey, which always works for me. Your addition of canvas could use some healing in the URH area IMO.

Overall I love the face on this bird.
