After all the wintry scenes I shot during the last weeks, I really enjoyed the first signs of upcoming spring. This image was taken last weekend in the Danube Floodplains, Lower Austria.

Very nice, Peter. These will be my next subjects while waiting for the rest of nature to awake.

I can hardly believe that spring is lurking already out there. After Plitvice and my skiing holidays i am still in wintermode, although i look forward to more upliftig weather!
Once again you managed to come up with an interesting and coherent composition. not an easy task in this undergrowth. I like the inclusion of the bg trees. It provides some context and meaning.

Is that "Spring" I see... I love winter but I'm looking forward to spring this year. Nice work Peter! I don't know anybody that can pull these shots off like you do.

great to see the first signs of spring here in austria (i'm afraid, that winter will soon have it's comeback).
i like the tension between old and new that's quite obvious here.

Very nice transitional image. It really captures the changing of the seasons with the awakening of the flowers. I too am ready for Spring. Well done!!!! Chet

Very nice! So neat to see all these beautiful blooms coming out of the disarray of the post winter forest! What a lovely view!

Very nice image Peter. You have such a talent for unraveling the chaos in the forest. Beautiful.

Wonderful prelude to spring Peter. All the snow is starting to melt here and bare ground is visible here too. Only a matter of time before spring takes hold of the landscape. The twigs add some nice graphics throughout the scene.

This is wonderful, Peter. Love the stark contrast between the new spring green and flowers, bursting forth from the decaying, brown, dreary remnants of years past. Exquisite.

Excellent title Peter, I like this very much, it's been a long winter, and this is very pleasant to view. Beautiful work.

Excellent example of rebirth in the spring, quite a stark contrast of greenery against the dried remains of the previous season. Great timing and well executed. :toast:
