Under specific conditions (that I'm still exploring) and at very specific angles to the sun, you can get sunbursts and/or colored sunbursts from icicles. In this case, I managed to get both colored and uncolored bursts. Sadly for this topic, it seems that we're probably done with icicle weather for this year. Those are spectacular sunbursts for sure! You have been getting some amazing icicle shots! I read somewhere that getting sunbursts also has to do with using a small aperture, which I am sure you must know! I haven't every really tried to do that myself but I sure like the results you are getting! I am not exactly sure if I like the top wood piece showing but I haven't quite decided. I might like the image a little better without it.

Again Mark you have come up with a very special image. The sunbursts are phenominal and the fact you got both colored and uncolored in the same shot makes it even more so. Superb work. :toast: :toast: :toast:

well done! Glad to see it can be done, lacked sun when we had icicles. Nice details in the icicles in addition to the sun spots. Thanks for sharing.

This is a beautiful image, and I love the starbursts along the edges of the icicles. You may consider a crop of the orange at the top. The starbursts would then take their rightful place in the photo. Great study!

Wow, those sunbursts make this image spectacular! They even are different colors! Very cool. Good capture of a group of three with lots of nice details. I think I would crop out the wood along the top and maybe slightly darken the background a bit. Just my 2 cents worth. Great find and capture, Mark!

The LP looks very nice Mark, those small points of light make it great.
The BG adds well also. Not sure that it might be better to leave the wood out?
Your call though.. Well done! :toast:
