Southern Lapwing

This Lapwing was foraging in some wet fields across from the Smithsonian Tropical Research Center, Gamboa, Panama.

Low light and pretty muddy conditions-this was as clean a shot I could get as the bird was moving in and out of the high grasses.

Looks good to me as posted - you managed the light and conditions quite well.

Very good low light shot, nice details and environment.
Colors, contrast, & exposure look great. In a perfect world you'd have some separation from those grasses near its head.
Well done:wavey:

Excellent detail in the larger image, Chuck. Nice pose and the few blades of grass in front of the bird add to the image for me.

Really like the narrow DOF and how well the vegetation frames the subject. Excellent detail on the bird and colors are great.

It is amazing to see all the different color patterns from the birds on your trip. Very good shot for the conditions you had. This is one of those shots you have to view the larger image to really appreciate the feather patterns. The larger image was a pleasure to view, well done.
