Yeah, one last shot in the fleeting light. I always liked this area along the Merced River, but found it more attractive this day in the low light than times past.

D800,
15sec, F/8,
iso 400,

Thanks
Chris

Peaceful and serene. You didn't list your lens/focal length but it appears you utilized everyone of the 36MP that the D800 had to offer. Absolutely gorgeous! :toast:

Thanks

I really like this, Chris. Beautiful light with wonderful color and a perfect reflection. I like the contrasting color with the fall foliage and the evergreens. This evokes a peaceful feeling.

Very peaceful scene. I really like it when you can catch the water so calm.

Wonderful reflection, Chris, of these trees and rock. I'd be tempted to crop a bit off the left hand side though, just to the right of that dead tree, thus eliminating the dead tree and some of the meadow on the left; the idea being to focus the attention solely on the wonderful forest, trees, the graphic leaning tree at the shoreline, and rocky beach and their reflection. Just a thought of course as this is gorgeous as is.

Gorgeous scene, Chris! One minor sugegstion--you might try backing off the green sat just a tiny bit, to let the warm colors in the grass, leaves etc stand out. :wavey:

Chris, there is a wonderful balance for me between the dark and mystic reflection and the delightful spots of autumn colors. Great work in my opinion.

Excellent color and light. The long exposure also made the reflection possible and effective for the symmetry. Very nice!

Your work from Yosemite is at a level now that you can call this place your own.

I especially love the calm water which has resulted in a gorgeous reflection. :toast:

Colorful and tranquil. My eye tends to go to the tall dead snag on the left, so cropping that off might be an inclination. The blues and greens in the firs make a nice backdrop for the colors along the bank.

Thanks Guys!

I can see the crop from the left, but, I can also see the same thing from the right. I like the snag, but even more the colors and details along the river's edge on the left side. The reason for the full frame.

Beautiful colors and reflections. The position of the vertical branch dead center is a bit off-putting, also looks overly sharp.
