From my travels last April, Paintbrush and Bluebonnets from North Texas.

The Texas wildflowers are spectacular beginning in the first week of April. Thanks to Lady Bird Johnson and her Texas Wildflower program.

Those paintbrush sure do stand out in what looks like overcast conditions! What a delightful stand of wildflowers.

Lovely! The bluebonnets surround the paintbrushes, framing them tightly and nicely. I wish there was a bit more dof, but this is really nice as is. :toast:

The North Texas predictions are for a longer season due to recent rain and extended season lasting through the month of April. These were taken mid April last season in the Ennis area that has an annual Bluebonnet Festival among the rolling farmland east of HWY 45.

Thanks to all for the comments :jump:

Lovely image. I like the use of DOF to center attention on the paintbrush. And of course the colors are beautiful.

Rick:

Love the contrasting color in this image. The red really pops from the OOF blue. Beautiful image :toast:

Excellent. I look for similar groupings here in AZ but never seem to be able to pull this off as you have done.

My predictions is the Bluebonnets will peak about tax day. This year is supposed to be a longer lasting season through first week in May. :wavey:

Just fabulous, Rick! Love the combination of colors in this and your flower level POV. I also like the way you made your clear focus on the red flowers with the blue flowers in varying states of focus providing the framing. Love this image! :toast:
