I like several things about this image, Chris. What is it that causes something to rise from similar, discrete things to become "special"? You have made this manifest in this image through focus and color.

Yet in our everyday experience something like this is always happening through the faculty of "attention"; it serves to isolate auditory and visual stilmuli and, in a very dynamic and often momentary way, it serves to focus our attention; here, then there; somewhat like a butterfly.

I like the sort of "rule-of-thirds" placement of THE subject party favor here, and again how you bring the viewers' attention to it through photographic technique. But I also like it in the context of the wedding, where two people have each selected the other out of a sea of possibilities, not unlike the party favors as a metaphor, as special.

I am really like the way you processed the image. The selective desaturation in combo with the shallow DOF works really well.

Nice work on this, Chris! I especially enjoyed the large version. You did some nice work on capturing the shot and the processing looks great.

I like your selective focus techniques on the one party favor in this one. Nice detail shot.
