The Approach, Bald Eagle

This bird landed on the river and was having problems getting through the slushy snow.

I chose this shot from approx. 30 as I liked the intense look.

Nikon D300; 500mm; f 7.1 @ 1/1600th; ISO 200; HH; approx 40% FF.

A somewhat unique shot of a bald eagle. Love the intense stare and the deep snow he is having to wade through. Great feather detail also.

Bill- yes, on the St. Lawrence near Ivy Lea. As the river starts to open up again, I hope to see a lot more of these guys. Wish me luck.
