D300 200-400 mm @ 650mm ISO 200 F8 1/125

I know, no catch light in the eye, square format, but I still really liked the light and the pose on this Green Winged Teal preening himself not long after sunrise this morning. I am curious if it works for anyone else but me, comments please.

The warm light is gorgeous and the gentle ripples in the water make this image absolutely magical. Great job!

Pretty cool moment of capture. A little more detail in shadow area of head would work. :wavey:

A lovely capture of an intimate moment. I agree with Rick; there is probably more detail in the head area.

The blocked up shadows of the head take away from the image for me.

Bob,I looked for about 5 minutes, I see a great memory to keep. its not the darkend head but the hot area on the side, my eye keeps locking in there. I love these little guys but man they fly fast
