A local bird (Eastern PA), found in the edge of the woods last summer. Maybe a bit too busy for some, but these little wood warblers hang out in the forest. I got a bit lucky with this one....shutter speed is slow, but it sat still just long enough for 3 shots...this one is the best of the 3 I got of it in the clear.

50D, 500mm, ISO 200, F4, 1/25 LARGER version also posted.

Thanks for your critique/comment! Sharon

Tough bird to see let alone photograph. He gave you a good look and you got it. Might darken that large light patch behind it's head. Pretty good DOF for f4. Thanks for sharing this.

Good pose you caught. Nice detail in the feathers and features of the bird. I agree with darkening the light area a bit, and even cloning out the twig right behind the bird's head. Not much of a distracting, just a bit. Thanks for sharing.

Nice crisp image, Sharon. Excellent results for that shutter speed. I don't mind the busy bg.

Exquisite detail in the large image. I am fine with the surrounds since the bird is in the clear.

Sharon,

This is an incredible shot for ISO 200. The surrounding vegetation helps to define that this bird is found in deciduous woods. Thank you for posting :toast: .......................Jim

Cute little tyke. Nice detail on the bird, and although the bg is busy the twigs are similar in color to parts of the bird. Not all busy bg's are bad imo.
