Posing Marmot

Hi Everyone! Marmots are one of my favourite animals. My sisters even nicknamed me Marmot because I'm the smallest in the family and like climbing rocks!

Every time we go to Yellowstone I hope we see more marmots, and so far we always have! This guy was out enjoying the sunshine on some rocks when we started photographing him. As we took pictures, he actually came closer to us and posed for us on a bunch of different rocks! This was one of my favourite pictures because I like the cool rock he posed on and the soft bushes behind him.

Nice sharp picture Josiah. I would have been nice to get more of the marmot in the picture, but you did well with what he gave you for a shot. Keep shooting.

Good lighting and sharpness that really shows the details of the fur. Also like your choice for the dof.

Technically were well executed and processed Josiah. I do wish the marmot would have been more on top of the rock as opposed to partially behind it, so we could see more of him. Or is this a legless marmot perhaps?

Vincent's question about legless marmots made me laugh! I like your exposure and agree the background is a positive.
