Snow

Winter made an appearance Wednesday and Thursday across the state of Kansas. Here in central Kansas, we had around 15" of snow over the 2 days. This was from Wednesday, after a few hours of snowfall. The winds weren't bad compared to some storms I've photographed before :). I was playing with shutter speeds to see what would work for the prevailing winds. 7D, ISO 100, f/16, 1/50s, 43mm with small crop. C&C always welcome and appreciated.

I just posted a slightly different version in the photoart gallery.

I cant really make out the snow streaks--but im not sure theyre even needed cause i like the nice desolate cold scene. Hope to get out this weekend for some of that!

I'm enjoying your comp., with the sharp foreground trees on the right framing the big clump along the left 1/3rd line, softened by the blowing snow. This pulls my eyes to the softer clump and tells the story of the blowing snow.

Rob, I think you did a great job capturing the feel of that storm. I can really feel it looking at this scene. The streaking snow really adds to the mood here for me. I might crop the left side just enough to take out the branch in the top left corner. Nice work on this!!
