Thermal Feature Patterns

From last week in Yellowstone. I liked the radiating lines from the thermal feature towards the distant mountains and the color shift as they worked towards the snow. Taken from walkway. The sky was blue enough to add some color so I left a little in.

Interesting colors and textures. I might have cropped even more of the sky out as the focal point is certainly in the FG. Did you shoot this vertical or horizontal and cropped to vertical?

This image was shot vertical but I also shot it horizontal. I try to shoot everything as both a vertical and a horizontal to see which I like best.

Wow, I just gotta get to Yellowstone! Nice example of patterns in nature; nice and sharp from foreground to background and the lines lead you eye right out to the mountains. I may have included a bit more sky, but it came out nice.

Love the patterns in the foreground as well as the textures and tones. Contrasting the patterns in the thermals to the snowy background works well. This could work great as an abstract as well,by cropping the top portion right at the snowline, but that's just a thought. Well done.
