"Weeds"

These are unwanted weeds in my flowerbeds. Even though the flowers--Fig Buttercups--are pretty, they are quite invasive so I try to keep them out of my flowerbeds. The curly stem is what I call garlic grass which is also unwanted. However, as a macro photographer we look for the beauty in every detail, right? I was struck by the intersting angles of the garlic grass and tried to form a ground level image of this including the buttercups. They then were dug out of my flower bed!

Canon Rebel T1i. 180mm macro lens. F/4 at 1/40 sec. ISO 100. Tripod mounted, natural lighting.

I like the colours and the lines a lot. I like the OOF flowers in the BG.

Very pretty for "weeds", but so many invasive plants are quite stunning, aren't they? The composition is really lovely and I love the color.

Very pretty, Carolyn. The curly stem adds an interesting and artistic flare.

The curled stem of the garlic grass (it can be eaten as a garlic substitute, but the bulbs are pretty tough, buttercups are poisonous) is a great addition and makes me think of a shepard's crook guarding the buttercup. I've encouraged buttercups throughout my law, but fight both them and the wild garlic in my flower gardens. This is lovely with the oof echo of the flowers in the background and the green on green (almost a color cast, . ).
