Male Downy

This little male downy woodpecker came in close to my blind to feast at a nearby peanut feeder. I was not sure how this was going to turn out as the image was originally shot as a horizontal view and I cropped it for a vertical shot. I like the way the feet and tail grip the branch. Very nice. I like the way he's hanging on. Nice capture.

A handome young gentleman, for sure. Neat to see him clinging to the small branch. The whites look just a bit high on the belly. If it were mine, I'd be tempted to clone out the bit of white bird poop by the bill.

Nice, Jim. Detail looks excellent and it looks as if the exposure was spot on.
