The day after the blizzard last weekend, I went out in the woods behind our home to capture some of the long shadows.

Pentax 67II
Pentax 67 90-180mm
Fujifilm Velvia 50

Thanks for having a look. Hope everyone is not getting bored of my snow images because I have a few more on the way since I received my film back today.

One question, what's film  I'm enjoying the bottom of the image more thatn the top. Maybe too busy with the small branches. This may be a case where lack of DOF would help simplify, just rendering the FG trees sharp. Looks like we may get another dump this weekend. Maybe this snow will not be traveling sideways!

Gosh the big file is stunning really good detail Eva and the shadow lines are lovely I like the context given to them by the presence of the trees. It seems to me that there is a very slight blue to cyan cast in the darker tones of the picture, not very much just a little. The whites look very natural.

I agree with Harry. I love the bottom more than the top of the image. But overall it's a nice image as is. The long shadow made the foreground very interesting

Nice use of lines again, Eva. And, such a beautiful winter scene. We may finally get some of that around here tonight!

Simple but effective image. I played around with different crops on screen and I kind of like a pano crop with some off the top and off the bottom. Just a thought.

The shadows are nice and the sharp angle between trees and their shadows keeps my eyes moving. I think you could crop the top 1/4 to 1/3 and tell the same story with fewer distractions.

Lovely winter image Eva - there's a nice crispness to this and I agree with Ian, great detail in the trunks with the larger view.

May just be me, but the shadows seem a bit on the blue side.

Love those long, blue shadows on the snow, Eva, and the nice dappled light on the trees. Wonderful wintery composition in my opinion. Really nice whites in the snow. I prefer your original post though as I think the blue tones in the shadows work very well in contrast with the warmer light on the tree trunks. The repost looses that for me. Look forward to seeing more of your snow images.
