Winter Tales #3

This is the third post from my ongoing series, captured in the Vienna Woods, Lower Austria, last week. I enjoyed the interplay of the delicate twigs covered by the hoar frost together with the texture of the brown leaves.

Peter, I'm really enjoying this image! The larger version is impressive with all the fine detail and texture. I think this is really well done and actually fun just to study it for awhile. Excellent comp with this too!. :toast:
Another one of your images that brings Eliot Porter to mind for me.

Simply nature in a woods, BUT getting it so natural with wonderful depth of fog and hoar frost needed your eye for a composition. Splendid work, Peter.

Such scenes are tough to come up with an organised comp. I think you did a good job here.......though it's still a bit busy in the lower right corner I think the hoar frost can separate the different elements here. These are typically winter secenes I also know from my area here in switzerland. The details in the large version are really great. Think this one you must see large to really appreciate it.

Peter - This feels a bit too busy for me. I might have tried a horizontal comp of the top portion that icludes most of the frosted vines and some of the leaves and distant trees. I'm drawn to the interplay of the of th top portion with the far trees in the fog, so maybe this section of the image is stronger for me.

I may have to put another log on the fire after seeing this. The ice and fog really convey the cold mood well.

Enjoyable winter mood Peter. The top portion has the most interest for me with the mist and hoar frost.

Thoroughly enjoy the frosty patterns and leaves as well as the foggy shadows of the trees in the background. The larger view gives one a better hint of all the wonderful details.

Really gorgeous work Peter, reminds me a lot of Eliot Porter, I just noticed Nick B mentioned the same thing. Beautiful.
