Crystalline Creek

This is the second image I took in the same place as the last image I posted but as a horizontal. With a wide angle lens and lowering the tripod I was able to make the creek appear bigger than it actually was and catch more of the reflection in the waters surface. Although I haven't got out much this winter it is a favorite time for me because nobody was around and this area only gets tracked up by buffalo.

As always thanks for taking a look. Any critique, opinion or anything else you would like to add would be much appreciated.

LARGER VERSION provided.

I think I like this version best...one has more of a sense of the large scale of the landscape! I love the furry snow too! Nice work!

Beautiful capture, Dean. I like the color contrast here and the foreground snow pockets really catch my eye while the warm reflected light directs my eye deeper into the scene. I hadn't noticed this before but I like how the warm light continues to reflect off of the middle ground snow. Very nice. :toast:

A typically strong comp from you. And, the color is beautiful as usual, too. I still think I prefer the vertical, but not by much. This has that great horizontal calming effect. Very well done, Dean!

Beautiful composition and colours. Nice snow textures and light in middle area. I like the first but only slightly. Both are just great.

Tough choice, Dean. I like them both, honestly. I know that doesn't help very much. I think the first might be slightly preferred due to the stronger shape in the foreground. Nice work!

This is a great image Dean. I like the tonal range of the larger photo very much but I would remove some cyan from the blue sky. I have seen this type of unnatural looking sky a lot in my own images since going digital. I always reduced it using selective color in PS. Hope this helps.

I like this one better, Dean. Love the orange glow in the water and the great colors in the sky. Neat comp, too, brings me through the image easily. :toast:
