Dark Matter 2

A variation on an image I posted a couple week ago. Spider webs and dew taken in early morning light. Single image. Nikon d700, 180 macro, ext tube, polarizer. I darkened the bg and desaturated the image to try to enhance the feeling/look of outer space. Comments, suggestions, and questions welcome. :wavey:

I like this version even more because it fits the 'Dark Matter' theme better IMO.
The theory of Dark Matter's very interesting to me, because it explains the increasingly rapid 'expansion of the universe'..
I guess this means that one day we'll be looking at just one dew drop?
Here's a Nasa link about it if anyone's interested.

Hi Scott:

Looks like soap bubbles too. I think I can see faces in many of the bubbles and those eyes are looking right back at me

Cool composition and creative title :toast:

I thought they were bubbles, too, until I read your explanation. Definitely abstract spiders....not orb weavers. good find. :wavey:

Very cool image, Scott! I like this version better than the first. I like the blue color in the white edges of the dew drops and the way the dewdrops stand out against the black bg.

Hard to say which I like more...they are both great for different reasons. This one draws more attention to the droplets themselves...I am not really too aware of the web in this one so it definitely looks more otherworldly. I like that you left the hint of blue in the droplets too!

These are great, Scott. They do feel like space images...this may have been a few nanoseconds before the big bang.
