This little creek changes daily in this changeable weather, as ice dams form and break up, causing ice shelves to form at various levels.

Canon 5D2; Canon 24-105mm.
1/5 sec. @ f/16; ISO 100
4 exposures focus-stacked in CS6

Great Winter scene, Wayne! Love the ice crystals. Minor nit--wish there was a tad more up top. :wavey:

Wayne, I really like this image. The ice looks great and the cool blue tones really add to the look and mood. I like your comp very much but also wish for just a little more woods on top. This would also work nice by cropping just below the woods I think. Very nice!

Nice leading lines and texture in the ice crystals Wayne. I agree with a little more at the top. I also see a snowmans face laying on his side near the centre tree. Well done.

I really like this photo, the ice crystals are great and the snowman face in the background adds to the shot.

I have to admit, the first thing that jumped out at me was the smiley snowman face on the rocks up top. Then the clarity of the ice crystals took overr my imagination. I love the feathery shapes and cool, blues. Very nice

I really like all the detail in those ice shelves angling across the foreground and the ice "pillars" in the distance. I find the trees at the top distracting and think that cropping to the base of the biggest trunk would emphasize the ice structures and the angling of the creek.

Wayne,

This definitely tells a story of winter and of how the water rises and falls creating these neat ice formations. So as is, an excellent winter and nature story. Alternatively, I think if you cropped off the top to eliminate the context of the bg forest, this could be a very nice and more intimate winter image. Just a thought.

Really cool ice shelf there! I like the reflected light too. I'm for the intimate winter image idea as well.

Nice to have such this view :)

If i was there i will focus on the small edges near the creek which it has a great abstract quality and a wonderful contrast between the bluish of the water and the whiteness of the ice
