I like this B&W conversion which seems to emphasize the lines and curves more. Also like the texture of the wood.
A couple of suggestions for you to consider:
1) Crop a little from the lower edge to exclude the jagged black area. The blur in the foreground is not that interesting anyway.
2) Burn a bright spots in the bg behind the mushroom.
