Blue Bird #2+repost

Taken at the same place as my previous post of a bluebird. The birds were moving around frequently, not leaving much time to work on composition or adjust settings. Mid-afternoon sun was a bit difficult to work with when combined with the rapid movements of the birds. Still, glad to get any decent images of bluebirds in February.

Canon PS SX50
1/160 @ F-6.5 ISO 400
4.3-215mm @ 215mm (1200mm 35mm equivalent)

The colors really stand out against the BG here. Nice species to have in front of your lens, however brief they may sit still , Hans

Good for 1200mm EQ. I could wish for a catchlight, but the sun and the bird would have to cooperate!

nice pose and comp, and an interesting setting, John. wish the bird had given you a catchlight.

I think the perch really makes this shot interesting, the way the delicate bark curls out into space. Unfortunate about the shadow but you get what you can get. Still a quite nice bluebird image. :toast:

Interesting effort at 1200mm equivalent. Pretty cool to be able to pull that off with a super zoom PS. At this size, there does not appear to be much feather detail. Maybe it is there, but I can't discern it.

I like the contemplative pose and the curled bark perch John. If this were mine I might be inclined to crop from the right to the end of the middle tree - eliminating the space between that tree and the one on the far right.

Very nice shot. How do you think dodging the face a little will impact the image?

Tried a couple of suggestions: cropped off of the right side, and tried to lighten shadow. Thank everyone for your comments.
